How it works

How is the league organized?

  1. Create an account with the system - view instructions here

  2. Select your local area

  3. Register for the upcoming session and we’ll put you in a group with 3-6 other players/pairs.

    *If you are entering a doubles league, your partner needs to have an account and you must enter their name or member ID during registration.

  4. Arrange matches when and where you like based on the contact information provided.

  5. Enter your match results online and win prizes.

Scoring Formats

Community Tennis Leagues accepts a wide variety of scoring formats. This includes:

Regular 3 tie-break sets (90 to 120 mins):

  • The first player/pair to win 6 games, with a margin of 2 games, wins that set.

  • If the score reaches 6 games all, a 7-point tie-break game shall be played. The first player/pair to win 7 points with a margin of 2 points, wins the set.

  • Player/pair needs to win 2 sets to win the match.

  • A match tie-break (10-point) can be played in lieu of the 3rd set. Player/pair needs to win 10 points, by a margin of 2 points, to win the match.

Best of 3 short sets (60 mins):

  • The first player/pair to win 4 games, with a margin of 2 games, wins that set.

  • If the scores reaches 4 games all, a 7-point tie-break game shall be played. First player/pair to win 7 points with a margin of 2 points, wins the set.

  • Player/pair needs to win 2 sets to win the match.

  • If the score reaches 1 set all, a match tie-break (10 points) will be played in lieu of the 3rd set. Player/pair needs to win 10-points, by a margin of 2 points, to win the match.

  • No ad-scoring is used. If the score reaches 40 all, a deciding point shall be played. The receiver shall choose the deuce or ad side to receive the serve.

One Pro-set (45mins):

  • The first player/pair to win 8 games, with a margin of 2 games, wins the match.

  • If the scores reaches 7 games all, a 7-point tie-break game shall be played. First player/pair to win 7 points with a margin of 2 points, wins the match.

Fast4 - Tennis Australia format (45 to 60mins):

  • The first player/pair to win 4 games, with a margin of 2 games, wins that set.

  • If the score reaches 3 games all, a 5-point tie-break, win by a margin of 2 points, game shall be played. If the tie-break score reaches 4 points all, one point (sudden death) shall be played to decide the winner of the set.

  • Player/pair needs to win 2 sets to win the match.

  • If the score reaches 1 set all, a deciding match tie-break (10-point), win by a margin of 2 points shall be played. If the tie-break score reaches 9 points all, one point (sudden death) shall be played to decide the winner of the match.

New Brunswick Leagues: One Pro-set (60mins): 

  • The first player to win 10 games, wins the match.

  • If the score reaches 9 games all, the winner of the next game wins the match (10-9).  There will be no tie-breakers.

Northwest Territories Leagues: One Pro-set (45 mins): 

  • The first player to win 8 games, with a margin of 2 games, wins the match.

  • If the scores reaches 7 games all, a 7-point tie-break game shall be played. First player to win 7 points with a margin of 2 points, wins the match.
